Chinese Calligraphy met Han
(NO WALK INS POSSIBLE, PLEASE BOOK AHEAD 😊)As a calligraphy enthusiast ever since I was 5 years old, I love every art form which allows one to explore body-mind connection through an art creation.
Calligraphy is not about “Writing” itself. It’s not about the result, but the process of it. Do not think about making the most beautiful pieces.
See it as a yoga/taichi medication practice where your hands lead your body, your mind is revealed on the paper flowing with the ink. you’re what your write.
Let it flow.Enough of the abstract talking, in the 1’5 hr workshop, I’ll guide you through the practice , you’ll practice working with calligraphy brushes, Chinese ink, Chinese rice paper( different forms), then at the end you may bring home with yourself a piece you create with your names, or a phrase.

DLC member Valerie will give a workshop in how to use colour in painting 🎨 You will learn to see colour in a different way! Bring a photo and we’ll print it for you to paint!

Join our intimate Art Club – a cosy fortnightly gathering where you’ll learn new art skills, make creative friends, and explore different techniques with all materials provided.

- 🕑 16:00 Finish (or stay longer if the café is open)

What to bring
Nothing! All materials are included. But if you have your own project you’re working on (knitting, sketchbook, etc.), you’re welcome to bring it and work alongside us.

Dutch level
We chat in Dutch during the session, but it’s relaxed and creative-focused. All levels welcome – whether you’re a complete beginner or fluent. We speak slowly, help each other, and it’s absolutely fine to focus on your art and just listen!

Nederlands niveau
We kletsen in het Nederlands tijdens de sessie, maar het is ontspannen en gericht op creativiteit. Alle niveaus welkom – of je nu een complete beginner bent of vloeiend spreekt. We praten langzaam, helpen elkaar, en het is absoluut prima om op je kunst te focussen en alleen te luisteren!
