Love games that make you think? Join our Strategic Board Games Afternoon every Sunday – a focused and competitive gaming session for enthusiasts who enjoy complex strategy, resource management, and games that require a bit more brainpower.
What makes this different from Wednesday Game Night?
Our Wednesday evening game nights feature a mix of party games, word games, and strategy games – something for everyone! But on Sundays, we focus specifically on strategic board games with higher complexity and longer playtime.
You’ll find fellow enthusiasts who:
- ✅ Don’t mind spending time understanding the rules
- ✅ Appreciate games with depth and tactical decisions
- ✅ Learn quickly because they already love strategy games
How the afternoon works
- 🕐 13:00 Doors open – arrive, grab a drink, say hello
- 🕐 13:15 Games begin! We form groups based on what people want to play
- 🕓 16:00-ish Most games wrap up (but we can continue until the café closes at 17:00)
What games do we play?
We have a collection of strategic favourites including Catan, Clank, Tiny Towns, Dominion, El Dorado, and more.
Sometimes we choose the game in advance via our DLC Board Games WhatsApp group (members only – join here), but we’re always flexible on the day.

Who should come?
Both experienced players and enthusiastic beginners welcome! Whether you’ve played hundreds of strategy games or you’re just discovering you love this style of gaming, you’ll fit right in. The key is enthusiasm – if you’re genuinely interested in strategy and willing to engage with more complex rules, this is for you.
Dutch level
We speak Dutch during this event. You’ll need a decent level (B1+) to follow game explanations and chat with others, but please don’t worry about mistakes or speaking slowly! We’re patient and supportive.

Wat maakt dit anders dan de woensdagavond spelavond?
Onze woensdagavond spelavonden bieden een mix van partyspellen, woordspellen en strategiespellen – voor ieder wat wils! Maar op zondag focussen we specifiek op strategische bordspellen met hogere complexiteit en langere speeltijd.
Je vindt medespelers die:
- ✅ Het niet erg vinden om tijd te besteden aan het begrijpen van regels
- ✅ Spellen met diepgang en tactische beslissingen waarderen
- ✅ Snel leren omdat ze al van strategiespellen houden
Hoe de middag verloopt
- 🕐 13:00 Deuren open – kom binnen, pak een drankje, zeg hallo
- 🕐 13:15 Spellen beginnen! We vormen groepen op basis van wat mensen willen spelen
- 🕓 16:00-ish Meeste spellen zijn afgelopen (maar we kunnen doorgaan tot het café om 17:00 sluit)
Welke spellen spelen we?
We hebben een collectie strategische favorieten waaronder Catan, Clank, Tiny Towns, Dominion, El Dorado, en meer.
Soms kiezen we het spel van tevoren via onze DLC Bordspellen WhatsApp-groep (alleen leden – word hier lid), maar we zijn altijd flexibel op de dag zelf.
🎲 Heb je thuis een strategisch spel dat je graag wilt spelen? Laat het ons weten in de WhatsApp-groep of neem het mee! We zijn altijd enthousiast om nieuwe spellen te proberen.
Voor wie is dit geschikt?
Zowel ervaren spelers als enthousiaste beginners welkom! Of je nu honderden strategiespellen hebt gespeeld of net ontdekt dat je van deze spelstijl houdt, je past er perfect bij. De sleutel is enthousiasme – als je oprecht geïnteresseerd bent in strategie en bereid bent om je bezig te houden met complexere regels, dan is dit iets voor jou.
Nederlands niveau
We spreken Nederlands tijdens dit evenement. Je hebt een redelijk niveau nodig (B1+) om speluitleg te volgen en met anderen te kletsen, maar maak je alsjeblieft geen zorgen over fouten of langzaam spreken! We zijn geduldig en ondersteunend.
