Boekenclub đ Onder de paramariboom
We gaan praten over ‘Onder de Paramariboom’, geschreven door Johan Fretz.
Wat gaan we doen?
We gaan onze meningen delen over het boek en vragen over de thema’s beantwoorden. Daarna kiezen we het volgende boek, de datum en de host (we lezen meestal elke 2 maanden een boek, afhankelijk van de lengte).
Planning
- 16:00 â inloop bij DLC, drankje pakken, kletsen
- 16:15 â discussie over het boek
- 17:45 â volgend boek, host en datum kiezen
- 18:00 â einde activiteit
Wat meenemen?
Als je wilt, kun je jouw exemplaar van het boek en eventuele aantekeningen meenemen, maar het is niet verplicht. Ideeën voor het volgende boek zijn altijd welkom.
Het boek: Onder de Paramariboom
We lezen dit keer Onder de Paramariboom (268 pagina’s) – dit is het boek dat gratis wordt gegeven voor Heel Nederland Leest! Haal een exemplaar van het origineel of de B1 niveau LeesLicht versie op bij de bibliotheek vanaf 1 november.
Dit is een hartverwarmend boek over identiteit, thuishoren en de zoektocht naar je roots. Het gaat over hoe Johannes op 29-jarige leeftijd voor het eerst Suriname bezoekt.
Leuk als je het hele boek hebt gelezen, maar dat is niet verplicht! Als je je wilt voorbereiden, kun je over deze vragen nadenken:
- Wat vond je van het boek?
- Zou je het boek aanraden?
- Heb je nog vragen over het boek (moeilijke zinnen, onduidelijke woorden enzovoort)?
- Welke emoties heb je ervaren tijdens het lezen?
- Wat is je favoriete inzicht uit het boek?
- Welke zin of passage vond je het sterkst?

We voeren het gesprek in het Nederlands â maak je geen zorgen als jouw Nederlands nog niet perfect is; we spreken langzaam en helpen elkaar! Boeken lezen in het Nederlands klinkt misschien moeilijk, maar we kiezen altijd toegankelijke titels, en je zult versteld staan hoeveel je begrijpt en leert đ

We will share our opinions on the book and answer questions about its themes. Afterwards, we’ll choose the next book, the date, and the host (we usually read a book every two months, depending on its length).

- 18:00 â End of the activity
What to bring?
If you’d like, you can bring your copy of the book and any notes you have, but it’s not required. Ideas for the next book are always welcome.
The Book: Onder de Paramariboom
We’re reading Onder de Paramariboom (268 pages) this time – this is the book given for free for Heel Nederland Leest! Pick up a copy of the original or the B1 level LeesLicht version at the library.
This is a heartwarming book about identity, belonging and the search for your roots. It’s about how Johannes visits Suriname for the first time at age 29.
It’s great if you’ve read the entire book, but it’s not mandatory! If you want to prepare, consider these questions:
- What did you think of the book?
- Would you recommend it?
- Do you have any questions about the book (difficult sentences, unclear words, etc.)?
- What emotions did you experience while reading?
- What was your favourite insight from the book?
- Which sentence or passage struck you the most?
