Learn Dutch while doing the things you love!
We believe you can learn a language while doing fun activities, as these provide an opportunity to get lots and lots of comprehensible input. This means that you get input that you understand and that is slightly above your level.
By getting lots of comprehensible input, your brain will naturally pick up on the language, just like how kids learn to speak!

How does it work?
However, it’s not so easy to just go out and start using Dutch in your daily life and learn the language that way. Instead, we believe there are 3 steps to learning to get confident speaking a language:
Step 1: Learn the basics
Learn the essential words and phrases through self-study or our engaging communication focused Dutch Basics course. Students of our courses also receive free community membership and can join beginner-friendly events (marked in blue) right away, like the Beginners Club and Pub Quiz, to start hearing and using Dutch in real-life situations.

Step 2: Get confident speaking
The next step is to get confident speaking in more realistic, unstructured situations. It is essential that you learn the six ‘speaking skills’. You can learn this in our ‘Speaking Skills’ course, and put these skills to practise in our community events.
Step 3: Apply in realistic settings
Finally, you can integrate your Dutch learning in your daily life by using it in more realistic settings. You can continue to practice and get confident in our community, by coming to activities such as Board Games and Book Club. For an extra challenge, you can also organise and host an event in Dutch!
For extra support using Dutch outside of the community, join our course.
