Speak Dutch confidently in your real, everyday life!
This course is for people who are comfortable speaking basic Dutch in ‘safe settings’ such as courses or our community events, but struggle applying in in the ‘real world’. Take it to the next level by using Dutch confidently in your daily life!

Our method
We highly believe in combining Dutch learning with doing the things you already love in your daily life, because:
👍 It’s more time-effective
👍 You learn the language that most important to you
👍 It’s highly motivating
👍 It’s just more fun
So you know the basics and are able to have conversations in Dutch in ‘practice settings’. However, it can be a challenge to actually combine it with the things you do and love. In this course you will be guided to use more Dutch in all aspects of your daily life, through fun excersizes, outings and coaching. After this course, you will get a lot more Dutch input naturally everyday, which will make your Dutch level improve greatly without spending much extra time!
What will you do?
The course consist of 6 session and 1 field trip. During each session, we focus on an aspect of Dutch in real life, such as at work, during sports, with friends & family, in public life, and so on, and we will do fun activities to promote Dutch in these areas.
During the field trip we practice speaking Dutch in public life through fun challenges that you complete in duos in the city center.

Week 1 – Intro, speaking skills and roleplays We will welcome everyone, provide some theory and techniques for speaking Dutch ‘in the real world’, and then practice for our field trips through role-plays.
Week 2 – Dutch in professional settings We will share successes, struggles and tips when speaking Dutch at work, at your studies or during job interviews. Then, we play a fun game to practice job interviews in Dutch, in a lighthearted way.
Week 3 – Dutch in the media We will share tips on what movies to watch, books to read, podcasts to listen to and so on, and will together try some of each and discuss!
Week 3 – Field trips ‘Dutch in Public Life’ We will go in duos on field trips in the city center and complete a fun set of challenges in stores, cafés and on the streets.
Week 4 – Dutch during your hobby, sports or volunteering We will coach you to integrate more Dutch in your past-time activities. Then, we will do an actual hobby together in Dutch, depending on the interests of the participants (no worries, it will be something low intensity, like arts&crafts, that everyone will enjoy).
Week 5 – Speaking dutch with friends or family Bring a +1, for example a friend, partner, family member, a neighbour, anyone you would like to speak more Dutch to. We will make at a fun evening for everyone where we practice speaking Dutch with each other, with tips from your coach!
Week 6 – Wrapping it all up We will discuss the progress made so far and your future goals. Then, we will end the course with some fun games to further practice speaking. The actual program might differ slightly as the teacher will make adjustments to the group
All sessions and coaching will be done in Dutch, so you´ll get tons of input during the sessions as well.
Dutch level
For this course you should be able to comfortably have conversations in basic Dutch in ‘practice settings’ such as our community events. Your Dutch level should be around A2 and up, and you should be able to translate the following to Dutch with relative ease:
I’m looking for a place where I can get my bike repaired Every time I try to speak Dutch on the streets, they switch to English I’ve got three colleagues at work: two are Dutch, and one is from Italy Last month I’ve read a book about cycling in the Netherlands, I really liked it! Next week I want to try to speak Dutch with my neighbour, when I see him in the garden

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I miss a session?
We recommend to be available for most sessions for maximum results. However, if you miss one session, you can still get a lot of value out of the course. Missed sessions are in principle non refundable. We don’t recommend to retake a lesson in a later group, as that usually that will be one or two months later and will not have much of an effect. Instead, you can do an extra community event for free if you miss a session, which is our recommended approach. If you really want to retake a session in a later group, we can’t guarantee this is possible, but we can look if a later group still has a space. In that case, send us an e-mail.
I’ve finished the course, now what?
After this course, you should get lots of Dutch input naturally in your daily life and keep improving through that. You can choose to attend our advanced community events such as the study club or book club to further improve your Dutch, or take one of our advanced workshops (t.b.d.).
My employer wants to pay. Can you help with that?
Of course! Your employer can register themselves through the form below and request an invoice through e-mail. The employer can also request an invoice in advance by sending an e-mail. We can provide a certificate of attendance upon request.
